IBA Ireland rally
This rally is organised by IBA Ireland and is similar to the other scatter rallies, in that you head for a location, take a photo to prove you were there, and send it in. There are a couple of differences though.
First of all, your face has to appear in every photo, which can be tricky at times unless you have someone else nearby to take the photo for you. It does result is some pretty scary looking photos.
However, the main difference is that, for each photo, you receive a randomly generated playing card. Once you've collected five cards, you have a poker hand. Whoever has the best hand at the end of the year wins.
There are ten locations in Ireland and ten on mainland Britain. The two groups count seperately as far as cards go and if you get all ten locations in either group, you are allowed to exchange two cards in your hand for another two random cards, to see if you can improve. There's actually a prize of 50 Euros for this one, but it's still about getting out and about to locations you wouldn't normally visit.
