rally warm up
It was time to dust the cobwebs off the sat navs and get back into rally planning mode. I needed to fine tune my route defaults in Autoroute with the intention of planning a more efficient route in the Brit Butt Rally this year. I planned to stick with the same system that I used in the Brit Butt Light rally last year, which was to have a default stop time every hour, and not worry about times for each location and fuel stop. Based on last year's Brit Butt rally, I was going for 9 minutes every hour and I can then fine tune it before this year's rally.
The intention was to pick up some Brit Butt Tour and IBA Ireland rally locations. Although it needed some doubling back , that was fine as the trip was for planning practice. First stop was a short blast down the coast to North Berwick for IBA Ireland's "Scotland Bonus" location, a Celtic cross at the Seabird Centre. Then I doubled back and picked up Brit Butt tour location 43, John Knox's House before heading out West.

As far as timing went, I was already 37 minutes behind schedule so it wasn't looking too good. So it was off to the Wild West and next stop was the Pavilion in Ayr (Brit Butt Tour location 20), where I stopped for lunch. Then down the coast to Kennedy's Pass, BBT 30, before swinging back inland to the National Burns Memorial in Mauchline, before heading for home.
So, how did the timing go. It was a bit off, with the final position being that I was 42 minutes behind schedule. I'm not sure why it's so far off, but I'll get at least a couple more runs in to get it sorted out.
